Fashion Designer · Stylist · Creative Director · Educator · Entrepreneur
Mark E. Menzie is a fashion designer, stylist, educator, and creative entrepreneur whose work sits at the intersection of fashion, culture, creativity, education, and visual storytelling. With more than a decade of experience across fashion design, styling, luxury retail, visual merchandising, and education, Mark has developed a multidisciplinary career rooted in the belief that fashion is both a creative practice and a powerful form of self-expression.
He is the Founder and Creative Director of Menzie by Design, a fashion brand and creative platform inspired by nostalgia, Black culture, Y2K fashion, Barbie, glamour, and the imagination of girlhood. Through his designs and creative projects, Mark explores representation, individuality, and the transformative experience of getting dressed.
Mark’s professional journey includes experience with Anna Sui, Tracy Reese, Kenneth Cole, Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, The Children’s Place, and UNIQLO. His styling and creative work includes projects with Vogue, Giorgio Armani, and Louis Vuitton, with his work also featured in Girls’ Life, Seventeen, Glamour, and Blush Dream Magazine.
His academic journey began at Parsons School of Design and continued at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), where he earned a BFA in Fashion Design and later an MBA in Entrepreneurial Studies. He has also studied fashion and trend forecasting in France and Italy, expanding his perspective on international fashion and design.
Education is an important part of Mark’s creative practice. As a fashion and sewing instructor with the Newark Public Library, he develops hands-on programming that makes fashion and creative making accessible to the community. Through workshops, mentorship, and speaking engagements, he also works with young and emerging creatives, sharing his nonlinear career journey and demonstrating the many pathways available within the fashion industry.
Mark’s creative work includes the #Y2KGlamour collection, presented at Newark Fashion Week Festival, and The Black Debutante : Crowned in Grace, a collection exploring Black girlhood, glamour, fashion history, and the transition into womanhood. He was also selected as a (FFA) Bridge to Basel 2025 finalist.
Today, Mark continues to build across fashion design, styling, creative direction, education, and entrepreneurship, using fashion to create meaningful experiences, celebrate representation, and inspire the next generation of creatives.
